Guided Trips
Grand Slam Guide Service (GS2)
(ALL GS2 TRIPS PERSONALLY GUIDED BY BWJ PUBLISHER, STU OSTHOFF)
Are you ready for the ultimate wilderness sportfishing adventure?
Join BWJ publisher, Stu Osthoff for your bucket list wilderness fishing trip to the BWCAW, Quetico or Sutton River to Hudson Bay. With over 45 years of Quetico/BWCAW backcountry outfitting/guiding experience (65 nights/season) I know when/where/how to make your dream trip happen. I thrive on the challenge of paddling down big fish for my clients, producing priceless angling thrills you will take to your grave. All Grand Slam Guide Service trips are outfitted with only the very best canoes, camping gear and fresh/frozen food supplies. Get your own group of friends together or sign up as an individual and meet new lifelong outdoor partners.
GS2 offers six different 8-10-day Quetico sportfishing trips each season and one trip to the Sutton River for trophy brook trout. May/June trips target big smallmouth in shallow water, July trips focus more on trophy walleye action and the Sutton River brook trout trip is in early August. While each trip targets the species that is peaking at that time, most GS2 clients catch the Grand Slam on all GS2 trips. The Quetico trips range from easy with minimal portaging to physically challenging with lots of portaging. Most GS2 clients are retirement age so I know how to take care of the “elderly” and still get them into the big fish. If your canoe tripping partners have all given up or you just need a little help with the physical demands of portaging, GS2 is the trip for you. I carry my own personal satellite phone on all GS2 trips because the safety of my clients is always the foremost concern. Should we ever have any kind of emergency, I can immediately summon the most effective assistance/response.
