A. Printing specifications: Heat-set web offset, perfect bound.
B. Materials specifications: Submit all ads as electronic files. A proof must accompany all ads. Final proofs - grayscale or color - need to be 100% in size. Material must be received by ad closing date and is subject to production charges for conversions, output and ad changes.
C. Trim: Publication trim size is 8-3/8" wide by 10-3/4" deep.
D. Bleed: Background must extend 1/4" beyond trim size. Keep live matter 1/2" from final trim.
*We will be happy to compose your ad. We charge $20 per hour for composition, minimum of $10. Please call if you need help composing your ad.
COMMISSIONS, DISCOUNTS AND TERMS
Display advertising is subject to a 15% agency commission to recognized agencies if paid within 30 days of invoice date. Agency commissions not paid on production charges. After placing the first ad, a 10% discount is earned on all additional display ads in that issue.
Invoices are sent upon publication and include a magazine for your inspection and records. Invoices are net 30 days. Late charges of 1 1/2 % will be made on all invoices outstanding beyond 30 days of invoice date. All invoices are payable in U.S. funds only.
INSERTS
THE BOUNDARY WATERS JOURNAL is perfectly bound to accommodate inserts. Contact the publishing office for rates and specifications.
SHORT RATES AND REBATE
Advertisers will be short-rated if within a 12-month period from the date of the first insertion they do not use the amount of space upon which billings have been based. Advertisers will be rebated if within a 12-month period from the date of first insertion they have used sufficient additional space to warrant them a lower rate than that at which they have been billed.
PRODUCTION CHARGES AND KEY CHANGES
Ad production and artwork services will be provided upon request and billed at reasonable cost. Ad production cost estimates will be provided when we receive ad materials. Ad proofs will also be provided upon request prior to publication. THE BOUNDARY WATERS JOURNAL accepts no responsibility for any requested changes in advertisements that are not specified in writing prior to the materials closing date.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
THE BOUNDARY WATERS JOURNAL operates under the Standard Rate and Data Services (SRDS) Consumer Magazines Contract and Copy Regulations. The following items apply. Number 1,2,7,8,11,23,24,27,35, 41,42. Also positioning of advertisement is at the discretion of the publisher except where a request for a specific position is acknowledged by the publisher.
